My name is Erica Palmer Bryant and I began my MAAS journey in May 2018. I am a County Human Services Director. My undergraduate degrees in Philosophy and Sociology are from UNC-Asheville where I met my husband. We have two children – a college senior and a fourth grader.

The goals for my journey were mostly personal in nature - building tolerance, increasing critical thinking skills, and continuing my pursuit of lifelong learning. I knew that these skills would also prove invaluable in my current position in County government and assist with the transition to a possible second career after retiring from the government.

During this journey I finally realized that being a lifelong learner was never enough. The lessons learned must be applied daily and shared with others.
